What Makes Us Different

What makes Hills Swimming
different?

A Dedicated Swimming School

Hills Swimming is all about swimming education. We are world leaders in swimming education and children are our focus. Teaching Swimming is all we do. In fact we have been doing it for over 30 years and have won numerous Australian and International Awards for Excellence in Aquatic Education.

A Safe, Family Friendly Environment

We provide a nurturing, warm learning environment where children's safety and well being are paramount. Everyone on our premises - in viewing areas and change-rooms - “belong” to the swim school. We have no public swimming and no gym or adult fitness programs. All adults and children in our facility are there for one reason only – quality swimming education.

A Specialist Team

The Hills Swimming Team of managers and teachers are specialists in swimming education for children. With a range of backgrounds in Early Childhood; Primary and Secondary Education; Occupational Therapy; Sports Science and Elite Coaching; our team caters for all aspects of your child's swimming education. We really understand how kids grow, develop and learn.

A Unique, Educational Curriculum

As a dedicated swimming school our focus is on great teaching, achieving specific learning outcomes, and tracking and reporting on students progress. Our unique sticker certificate system ensures each child's learning is individualised and both parents and teachers are always up to date with children's progress.

Small, Graded Classes

Our classes are small and well graded so that we can really tailor lessons to the needs of individual children. Children work best in a peer group, but if classes are large learning and progress are sacrificed. We have a maximum of 3 children in our pre-school classes, 5 in our graded parent and child program, and 4 in our school aged lessons. The focus is on quality learning every lesson.

An International Reputation for Excellence

Hills Swimming is regularly featured at National and International Conferences in recognition of excellence in Swimming Education. Interstate and International Swim Teachers often make the trip to Kenthurst to visit the school. Owners/mangers Deny and Julie have been billed as “most sought after” and are highly respected in the industry as mentors and educators.

A Progressive Program From Babies to Elite Athletes

Owner Deny is a Silver Level accredited swim coach with over 25 years experience. He has produced both able bodied and disabled National Champions. Hills Swimming competitive training squads cater for those who wish to take their swimming education to a higher level and members of the Hills Swimming “Bluefins” Swim Team compete at State and National Level. Friday Race Nights are open to all Hills Swimming students in Stroke Technique levels and above, and allow swimmers to gain valuable race practice for carnivals and club competition.

A Unique System of Quality Control

In addition to our unique sticker/certificate tracking system, Hills Swimming individually monitors the progress of each child and the quality of each lesson. On weekdays our Morning Managers assess classes and children in every session. Our afternoon and Saturday mornings are busier, and so we have 2 managers monitoring quality and progress – one in the water moving from classes – and one on pool deck. This system of support for our teachers is unique to Hills Swimming and ensures quality teaching – every lesson.

A Real Understanding of How Kids Learn

As specialists, our focus is on quality and progress. To learn well children must be motivated and have fun along the way. Our baby and preschool program is full of fun and laughter as children master essential skills that may save their lives. Our school-aged program is structured for optional practice and our unique reward systems are great motivation. Our teachers are chosen for their ability to really connect with kids. They nurture a love of learning and the motivation to swim well. Hills Swimming kids Love to Learn!
